As head of content acquisition at Vessel, Kirkbride oversees all of the platform's content efforts and creator partnerships. Previously, she spent five years at YouTube, most recently as the head of unscripted where she oversaw unscripted development, programming and production involving top creators for YouTube Originals. She also led YouTube Content Accelerator, global content investments and investment strategy at YouTube.
Kirkbride began her time at YouTube as the pop culture lead for original programming, where she oversaw the launch of over 25 YouTube original channels such as WIGS, AwesomenessTV, The Nerdist, SourceFed, Young Hollywood and more.
Prior to YouTube, Kirkbride was the founder and CEO of The New Media Advisory Group, where she worked with content creators to identify and monetize cross-platform properties, such as the popular blog Awkward Family Photos. Before founding The New Media Advisory Group, she was partner and president of new media at Generate, a next-generation media company, where she led the development and acquisition of new media properties, the build out of Generate's distribution networks and secured their Series A financing. Previously, she spent five years in venture capital at ABS Capital Partners and Advent International's Digital Media and Communications Fund investing over $100 million in emerging technology companies.
Kirkbride holds a bachelor's degree in science with a concentration in finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
